Adams and Eves

The Friendship of the Fellowship

I have been moved to write this letter to the church at ELIM, The body in East London and the brotherhood I have the honour of being a part of.

My heart aches when I think of all of my brothers and sisters, family and friends whom through circumstances i am separated. I am however so pleased to be a part of this wonderful fellowship of believers who have committed to spreading the good news that Jesus is able to restore your life to its former glory.

I am really concerned that our secular educational system does not even touch the tip of the iceberg in terms of preparing us for long term relationships and marriage. We had learnt through these institutions that we need to become independent and self sufficient before we engage in any long term relationship. God has a system that He has implemented from the start and if we as believers just follow His example we will have great success. God’s precepts are clear and to the point. When there was no mate found for Adam, we see that in scripture.

Gen 2:18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

Gen 2:19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

Gen 2:20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

Its clear that: ( To ALL THE ADAMS)

1. It is Gods duty to ‘look for a soul mate for you’ and NOT YOURS!!!

2. He will bring your soul mate too you! Do not go looking! You do not know what to look for. He knows what you need and remember (Psa 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart) He will put the desires in your heart, in other words the dire that you will have will be there because He placed them there and not because of what you think will be a good choice.

3. And even when you think there is no hope, guess what HAHAHAHAHA, we are talking about GOD here .

4. And now my brothers: Gen 2:21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept. This is the one that we battle with! Note that the Bible says ‘and he slept’. If you are willing to sleep in the Lord, then you will be awakened with a partner of your lifetime. It is contrary to the worlds system.

5. And when the time is right, in the fullness of time, God will blow you away. (Gen 2:22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. ) So as Adam replied and said: (Gen 2:23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.) in other words Adam said Eish now this is what I have been waiting for all my life ...... my kinda girl. Is that not what the response should be like for every man who has been waiting on the Lord, imagine the Word say, ‘those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, the shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not grow weary they shall walk and will not faint.’ That’s when you wait upon the Lord.

Adams remember the Bible says in Pro 18:22 Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD. And then its says in Psa 84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

(To ALL THE EVES)

Heheheheh this is a delicate one! Firstly let me remind you that God created man from the dust of the ground, but he formed you from the bone from the mans side. Now that says much right there regarding your make-up (composition) and your place (status) in the relationship. Eve was brought to Adam, she was led too him, i can just imagine God taking her by the hand and leading her through the garden Of Eden, right to where Adam was with all the animals around him busy naming all the beasts and fouls, and he stands up and says ....  .

I would like to draw an analogy with Esther, in the Book of Esther. This is an amazing story of one who was not known to anybody, yet had the favour of God on her life (because she was a child of the covenant). Do you have or should i say can you claim to have a covenant with the Master? In this covenant there are strict condition and liberal promises.

The process that God wants you too follow is this!

1. Keep yourself clean and pure. This is a gift that God has given you. I am not talking about water and perfume. These only cater for the external, its the internal that you need to guard. Ester was chosen because she was a ‘fair young virgin’ .

2. Prepare yourself for marriage. Like with Esther, her preparation was for a full year. Six months she had to be soaked in precious oils and myrrh and six months with sweet perfumes and odours. This time of purification represents times of restoration for many women, a time allowing the anointing of God to prepare you for the office of a wife. Its truly a high calling, and can only be conditioned through the oil of joy. The latter half of the the appointed time in sweet odours represent the presence of God in your life. In the presence of God there is fullness of everything. Like when God revealed Himself to Moses as the Great I am, When His fragrance is around you you will lack no thing.

3. My sister, there is a definite appointed time when God will have finished preparing you and take you unto your King. The fairytales tells us that the prince will sweep you off your feet, the Bible tells us that you will be taken to your King.

4. Every maiden of the Lord should be in preparation for her King. The preparation starts with your commitment to Him, His work and His body. Yes, to be a Godly wife starts from being the hand maiden of the Lord.

5. I think the saying is true ‘it takes a special person to be a wife’. And you are that special person.

If only you can understand the thought process of God when he looked at Adam all alone and decide to bring him someone special who will take away his loneliness and fill the void in his life. That is a special task for a special person.

So my sister, stoppppppppp being anxious about your situation. STOP LOOKING. You have too start the time of preparation. The Bible says God who sees in secret will reward in open (Mat 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly). Look at Jer 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Get off the shelve, who put you there? Go and prepare yourself. You say your clock is ticking away, His word says a thousand years is as a day and a day as a thousand years. Look at Sarah, Abrahams wife, how at her age (over 90) the King wanted her. And you say your biological clock is ticking! Man oh man we have so much to unlearn.

There are so many examples for the Eves. Just quickly look at the heart of Rabekah the maiden, the daughter of Bethuel and Milcha. She was a daughter of the Abrahams kindred. Fetching water was not the best place to be when looking for a husband, the same way we think that washing the dishes or mopping the floor would not be the place where you will meet your destiny. But this is say that it does not matter where you are, when you are in preparation, He will find you and lead you to your soul husband. When Rabekah offers a to water the camels, what was she thinking? Did she have a clue that this very deed will be the sing that the servant of Abraham was waiting for? Read Gen 24:44 And she say to me, Both drink thou, and I will also draw for thy camels: let the same be the woman whom the LORD hath appointed out for my master's son. Can you imagine drawing water for a camel who has taken a long journey, maybe days or weeks or months? The servant had 10 camels with him. A camel can drink up too 200 litres of water a day, and thats just to replace the water lost. Hmmmmmmm almost 2000 litres of water. Which lady you know will volunteer for that job? This speaks of a BIG heart. Look at Rachel, who waited for 14 years for her husband! Make no mistake you either in preparation or you not.

Finally brothers and sisters or should I say Adams and Eves, it was never going to be easy. The preparation for most of us will be unlearning our misconceptions of what we need to do. It will be trusting in God to pave the way for our future by putting our trust 100% in Him. We will need to allow for God to replace the ungodly mentors we have placed in our lives. The world know so little about the Godly Institution of marriage and the preparation for the same. God does not want to join two half persons and make 1, He want to take 2 whole persons and make 1 (Gen 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. ). Thats the miracle of marriage.

I trust that we will have a clearer understanding of what it is God wants to do in your life young man and servant of the Most High God. Find your rest in the Lord, and SLEEP. And when her time of preparation is fulfilled He will bring her before you. Psa 37:5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.Young maiden of the Lord, let the time of preparation begin (Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you) It will be worth it.

God bless
